CasaKeza opened its doors for the first time in 2016. Founder, Maia Gedde, wanted to bring a taste of Spain to Rwanda, and to provide a space for staff to learn new skills and develop their talents. Many of the original staff were orphaned in 1994. Soon after opening, the manager of the orphanage, Victor Monroy, became a shareholder. He took up the mantel of Restaurant Manager until returning to Guatemala in 2020. Today, CasaKeza is in the care of Restaurant Manager Seth Nkundumukiza and Kitchen Manager Fidele Uwimana.
